For the 1893 round top 3, the highest price paid was probably back on August 22, 1990. Heritage Auctions sold a PCGS graded MS-64 for approx. $15000.
Also, an 1859 brass penny graded by ICCS as a corroded VG-8 sold last year on ebay for about $14 500...I'm not sure if this is the highest price ever paid, but it's got to be close, and is also probably a record price for a Canadian coin on ebay as well.

The funny thing is, while these are the recognized scarce items, there are much more desirable and scarce items that don't show on this list. Leave these ones alone and go for the others!!

Yes, those are my sentiments! Most of us can barely buy a meal at McDonald's Restaurant at "two can dine for $5.99". So can you imagine trying to finance a $10,000 coin? What were you thinking. Then again if you had the financial backing that some Collectors have, anything's possible.
Take for example a coin such as the Canada, 1871 quarter, Obverse #1, a brutally RARE piece that can currently be acquired for peanut's when located. There are a couple on E-bay right now that are very affordable, but nobody makes an attempt at acquiring them?
I can name many other scarce and desirable sleepers that are there for the taking, but then I'd be giving up my deep darkest secrets! Wouldn't I.........................

This one looks suspiciously similar to an obverse 2? And in a ICCS holder.

I think the 2003 dollars, mintage of 1 each, were sold on ebay by the Royal Canadian Mint (with proceeds going to charity) were some of the more expensive Canadian coins sold on ebay. Each coin was well in excess of $50,000.

The list is great, how would the other TPGs numbers affect the populations ? How many cross over, an interesting study thanks.
