These are popping up on ebay:

Anyone know what these are?

Souvenirs from the Winnipeg Mint is one guess I have, since many of them are being offered out of Manitoba.

Another possibility is a plated steel test token. (If so, where's the toonie?)

Yes, these are souvenir coins from the RCM in Winnipeg. The Obverse of the coin has the "Mint Logo", and " Royal Canadian Mint" in both French & English stamped on it. The Boutique area of the Mint has a small "press" set up where visitors can choose a design and mint their own token. The cost is around $3.00 I believe. A friend of mine has one with the 5 Cent Beaver design on it. A nice, unique item for the Token collector.
Hope this helps.

Ya, I put a bid or two on these knowing they only cost $3 at the mint. Does anyone know if the Ottawa mint has one of the presses for guests that makes this token?
