Today I bought an 1866 3 cnet nickel, and an 1865 2 cent piece for my 7070. I gave $34 for both, how did I do?

Hey guys, I just noticed this but, does the 1 in the date look doubled? or am I just seeing things..

Sure does look doubled. Have a Three Cent Nickel but the 2 cent is on my wish list.

The 1--and the 8 show an RPD. In my Cherrypicker's Guide, it matches the FS# 2C-002.5 This was once considered an 1865/4 overdate; their closeup pic on the 5 is interesting. Nice score!

It sure does look like a match, great score! It always has amazed me that most coin dealers don't look for varieties and that's what makes browsing their inventories so much fun, finding pieces such as this 2 cent piece.
