Hi,
New to the CCF and was wondering if anybody knows where a newbie can find out about Canada's Metal Detecting rules and regulations?

I'm mostly interested in finding out what locations are legal to search (public parks vs school yards vs fair grounds)?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Sign up to the Canadian metal detecting forum. (I'll send you the link).

The only rules I know of (and follow) are: no digging on private property without permission- this means proper permission from the landowner, not the gardener or tenant; no digging on "Historic" sites (Eg. The Forks (Winnipeg), any Forts etc.); and wherever you get chased off- like boulevards, which are technically city property but some people claim them as their own and don't like people digging there.... apologize and move on. It's not worth getting into a squabbling match over who's right or who's wrong.

I see you don't have contact info yet. Just google "Canadian Metal Detecting" and you'll find a list of forums.
