Hey all! I've been quite busy working and traveling lately, but I just got a new camera and decided to put it to use. I bought this 3c silver when purchasing two Half Cents, one being a certain unspotted variety. After getting a good loupe after it, this coin has doubling on the date.

What do you guys think!?

The 1, 8, and 6 seem to be kinda flat, but the doubling on the serif of the two looks mighty rounded. If it were Machine Doubling, I would anticipate seeing it on the text as well... but I don't see any. I thought this doubling was noticeable, or are some of you not seeing it?

Wow, just got to this coin after getting back home in Texas. No doubt this is a 1862/1, but I don't notice any clashes on my example. Just goes to show that your coins are always worth another gander!

That Die Break from the Star to the 1 looks like a good diagnostic as well! Nice pick up!
