Can someone help me and determine if this is a 1970 S-Small Date?

I'm just getting into pennies and don't have another for comparison.

Thanks.

Sorry, that's a large date. I'm assuming you meant small date in your op.

If anyone has a comparison pic, that would be great. Increase my knowledge a bit. I did look in the Red Book but the pictures are almost identical.

That does John...my coin pictured looks identical as far as sizing as the post you put up John. Are we sure this isn't a small date? I'd hate to put it back into circulation without knowing for sure.

I've read up some and my picture sure does have some of thee same characteristics of a small date i.e. even 7, sharp to a point 9, and spacing seems to be right on the S.

Still, I'm no expert.

Save up $50 and buy a nice MS example. That way you have one and you'll never need to ask again. Plus, these hold their value, if you ever get in a pinch for money, you can sell it.

The inner tail of the 9 looks SD, but the 7 and 0 look LD
I guess I agree with LD
