When I come to the forum I scroll to the bottom & hit the active topics since I last visited button. From there I scroll down the page & read the threads I'm interested in. When I'm done with each thread I hit the back button on the top of my browser(internet explorer) to go back to the active topics.

Over the last several days I have started having an intermittent problem when I hit the back button. Instead of pulling up the active topics since I last visited it only pulls up the active topics in the last few minutes, or last hour, or whatever. I have to manually select the time period since I last visited & pull the active topics up from there.

I don't have this problem every time, & I don't have any idea if it's a site problem or a me problem. It is kind of aggravating & I'm hoping someone might be able to help me figure out whats wrong.
Rest in Peace

Sounds familiar - I've had the same problem for at least a year or more. And just like your experience, the problem is intermittent.

I'm using Safari on a Mac, btw. Maybe part of the problem is a corrupted cookie in the browser cache?

Edited to add: Often I access CCF and find that the previous visit time is completely bogus - like an hour and 17 minutes previous.

I always open the messages in a new tab. I never hit the back button. On many websites it can be hit or miss, so I have always avoided it.

I'm willing to try anything. Unfortunately I'm only semi-literate on a computer. I can open a new tab & go somewhere else on it but don't know how to make a thread open in a new tab. I've always used the back button & have almost never had a problem with it.

Use control-click or middle-click (scroll wheel click). It should open in a new tab. It may open a new window. Which one it will do depends on the browser settings.

I use an extension in Firefox that allows me to lock a tab, forcing all links to open a new tab. It helps me on my notebook since I can only control-click (no middle button on it) and I prefer to just click.
