I have 2 Barber Head Halves that have heavy wear. One is a 1894 s, the other is a 1893. Are they worth anything other than melt value?

First you said quarters then you said halves doesn't make too much difference because there does not appear to be much of a premium on any of those coins.

Need pics for a better guess. Don't sell them before you have positively identified them and know what they are worth.

The first years of the Barber series in Half denominations bring a fair price over melt, very very very fair price over melt. The later years, not so much.

MAYBE some on the 1893 if it's a half, but other than that you will have to provide pics to get a better appraisal.
Rest in Peace

"Heavy wear" is meaningless as a grade. Use the free grading guide on pcgs.com, or post sharp pix.

Both halves and quarters of those dates and mints are not high value in low grade, but all are difficult to find.
