I found a Walking Liberty 1986 1lb fine silver huge coin in its original box. It has 1lb troy .999 fine silver on the rim and what looks to be a serial number on it. Does anyone have a clue how much this would be worth?
Thanks!
Mike

A troy pound is 12 troy ounces so at the current rate of $35.50 that would make it worth about $426 in melt. You can weigh it on a scale that weighs in troy ounces (ozt) to see if it weighs 12ozt. There are some fakes out there so be careful. Without a pic I'm just guessing what it is. Hope this helps.

Hey, here we go. I found the same one from 1995. Did you ever find the manufacturer of this?

I have seen these oversized Eagles produced by several different companies. Unless there is a maker's mark on them, identification is usually not possible.

mine is a 1997 and was made by National Collectors Mint. I had the COA that came with it but can't seem to find it anywhere now. I paid about 70 bucks for it probably in 1998 which was way over silver value back then. I got it from one of those coin shows on tv and the only reason I got it was because it was the year my wife and I got married

I have seen these things with 10mil of silver coating copper so if I was looking to buy one I would make sure it said .999 fine silver and nowhere does it say ***mil anywhere on the item

All I ever find is a penny, or an occasional dime.
