I love the Lincoln silver dollar and intend to buy one soon, my question to those that know more than me is which is best to buy the proof or the unc and should I go ahead and get a 70 graded coin because I believe this coin will probably increase in value

Personally I like them both and if I was to buy any I would get them both in PCGS 70.

For the 2009 Lincoln commemorative dollars, I think
the mintages are at a level for both coins, where you wont
see much of a difference in price.

I guess if you are looking to get a slabbed one, then
maybe a 70 grade might be harder to find from the
BU or Proof. If that were the case then one might
sell higher in that grade.

I would check out both coins and see if I liked one
better than the other. I don't know what the price history
is .. or will be for MS/PR 70 graded coins. I have a feeling that when a new coin comes out you might see the 70 grades shoot up .. and then settle down .. but that is just a feeling.

Here is a link where I posted both versions of the Lincoln dollar .. second page in the thread.
