My daughter phoned me this morning to tell me that she came across some coins at a yard sale on her street. So she picked me up some fishscales (which she knows I love), a couple of pennies from the 20's and a 1917 dime. I started collecting this past winter after not looking at my coins since the mid 80's when my kids were born. I was thrilled that my daughter did this for me especially since she thinks I'm nuts to spend time on coins. I can't wait for her to return tomorrow with the coins.

You know what the Ultimate find would be? If one of those fishscales would happen to be the "1921".

I'm hoping that when my (2 year old) daughter is grown she buys me coins! Even though they will all go back to her someday anyhow.

What is a fishscale?

A fishscale is a pre-nickel era five cent piece about the same size as a US Half Dime. They are nicknamed fishscales.

Odd she didn't call you while she had the coins in front of her.
