I searched for this reference on this board, but didn't find it. If you don't know about this site it is really good for finding what the true market values of your coins are.

Its free.

http://www.ecoinage.com/index.asp

Just type in the date of the coin and search. It will come up with a listing of every coin of that date that has been sold at auction in the last 10 years or so. You should be able to see what your a coin of your date, mint state, and grade has actually sold for at auction.

Thanks for the link, I'll have to try it out!

I also like the auction archives at https://www.heritagecoin.com. You have to be a member to use it, but it is free and good information. They also have a section where you can put in your collection and it keeps track of its value (Numismedia wholesale prices).
