I have been advised by a British coin collector that this 'Greek' coin is a fake and if it was genuine, would be worth about $100.
Would much appreciate an opinion and an approx value if that is possible. I apologise for the poor quality of the photos but is seems to be quite difficult to do better on my Canon S50. I am looking for an alternative to the JVC QX3 or 5, for these are like gold dust in the UK.
Many thanks!

It doesn't immediately look like a fake, but it is very difficult to tell from photographs...especially these which are rather out of focus.

if you Google "Alexander Coins" you will find plenty of sites with information on the subject...

...and if you have access to it in a library Martin Price's, The Coinage In The Name Of Alexander The Great and Philip Arrhidaeus is your best bet to find the the monogram and symbol if you feel like it!
