Sooo ... I show up and type out a detailed reply to a CCF post ... only to see the message "Problem ... Login Expired" Latest example happened tonight on a reply to this post ... which I needed to re-type after logging in again. https://goccf.com/t/91475#758181This seems to be happened to me on a somewhat regular basis ... maybe on a 1 month frequency? What is up with this ... do I need to change something in my profile to allow for continuous access? Are all log-in set to expire on a regular basis? Truly ... I am not in the habit of checking my log-in status as I type replies ... and it is becoming frustrating to have my entries rejected because of this issue. What am I doing wrong ... and is there any way to correct it? My preference is perpetual log-in unless I choose to log-out. Thanks David

Grrr.
On some occasions, I have been able to hit back on my browser and capture my work before having to type it all over again.

Login data is maintained by a browser cookie and the cookie is usually set to last 30 days, so that would account for the estimated 1 month interval between occurrences of the need to login again.

I have asked the forum mod-dudes to weigh in on this thread ... any way to resolve the issue?

No, sorry. Cookies expire, and get deleted by browsers and software all the time.
On a side note, in over 6 years I have never seen that message. I just searched the entire forum code for the phrase "Login Expired" and it's not there anywhere. So I'm not sure what's going on.

what I'm thinking hes talking about is the forum auto logging you out.

Quote: what I'm thinking hes talking about is the forum auto logging you out. Well, the forum doesn't auto log you out. You can click to log out, or your cookie can expire or a browser or any one of zillion "tin foil hat" software packages that tell you cookies will kill your cat while your sleeping can delete it.

I just changed the cookie life to a year. But I don't think that's your problem, I think it's something else.
