The US mint is really on the ball, I ordered my proof buffalo from their web site on Sunday and it arrived today. It came via FedEx. I think this is a remarkable turnaround considering I placed the order on the weekend and Tuesday was a federal holiday. These guys are obviously big on customer service. I haven't ordered from them in years, I seem to remember waiting weeks for my coins to come.

My buffalo is beautiful. It's my most expensive piece to date, and I have no regrets. I would certainly consider adding another to my holdings when the time is right. Maybe an uncirculated one next time.

It seems silly that the face value is only $50. I bet if you were crazy enough to try and spend one at a cash register, you'd get turned away.

For the record, I still think the Saint-Gaudens double eagle is the nicest gold piece I've seen.

Nice going Mr. Smith. I would just like to remind you however, that when you make such statements as 'The Buffalo Has Arrived', you had better post guards on the New Jersey bourders to keep our Buffalo hunter from coming and claiming the new arrival. I'm sure you will be hearing from him in the not so distant future.
Again, nice coin and I know you must be happy with it.

I'm happy that you guys get such good service. I ordered some coins from Perth Mint 2 weeks ago and haven't seen them yet and I live in Perth, 20 minutes from the mint.

So they won't let you come directly to the mint and buy coins that way? That's to bad. 20 minutes is so close.

TSmith:

I own one also, and it is near the top of my favorites list.

Terry:

Went to the coin shop today and bought a dozen Buffalos. Nickles that is.

Better check your fences Terry, some of those critters have escaped and gone clear to Colorado. Nice hunting trip Gary!

We have had a number of the Buffalo Golds from the mint and they are just awesome. The mint seems to have excellent customer service. I think they are doing a great job.
