So I gotta ask this because I can't figure it out. To me this is a bullion coin, but to others it's collected in a set. Are the proofs worth more or less than the business strikes? I'm just curious because I'm thinking about trading some and if the proofs are worth more I don't want to get ripped off is all.

Thanks

Well...the bullion mintage for 2010 was around 35 million..proof mintage was a tad over 860,000. There were no burnished W's minted

The proof is probably the best looking collector coin the Mint makes and has much more potential than the heavily minted bullion version.

The proofs that I have are 86-90 and 92. The BU strikes are 99 and 02 I believe.

For a collector there is a difference, but eventually the melting pot sees only an ounce.

You know I looked on numismedia and I couldn't find that link! Lol thanks for pointing it out to me. I wish I could tell a PF70 from a 69 ;). These things have sat in the mint case since he bought them the year they were minted. They're in amazing shape.

Proof Eagles are almost always worth more than bullion Eagles.

Well thanks to that link - they're all proofs. That's something I'm glad you led me to. The 99 and 02 are "W" mint and the rest were S minted. I just assumed the W meant that they were the bullion eagles.

I should have known, my grandfather always bought proofs.

Found these in the same box if you care :) I'll post some stuff in another section later.

90 Eisenhower Proof $1
91 Korean War Proof $1
93 WW2 Commem Proof $1
89 Congressional Proof $1
91 USO Proof $1
88 and 92 Proof Olympic $1

And of course everything has it's original Mint packages :)

The technical term would be "round".
