ALLRIGHT !! Hope I can score one or two ! Subscription ? Limitations ? Or will it be the ole "first come first serve" routine MADHOUSE of millions of folks crashing the website at once to get one the very minute they go on sale ? Somehow I'm guessing that the premium for these will not be as long lasting as the first one in 2006 struck at the Philly Mint.......

The 2011 (W) won't be sold for another month...how can they be getting graded now? The 2011-W uncirculated, with mint mark won't be out for a month. If you buy a monster box you can tell which mint it is from. Send the whole box in for grading and they will note which mint it came from. |

It's a moot point if you ever decide to jailbreak them out of the holders as the coins are supposedly identical to the West Point ASEs.

It just gets confusing when a reference is made to a coin as 2011 (W) or (S) and there is no mint mark associated with it. It will even be MORE confusing when the 5 coin set comes out and there WILL be a (S) and (W) mint marked ASE and a slabbed (S) and (W) coin without the mint marks The grading companies are putting the (S) on the labels now (monster box submitted) which created the mess My opinion only: Slabbing the San Fran (non-mint marked) ASE's is lame....pretty weak and not an option for the normal collector without the over $25k or so to get it done |

"Normal Collectors" don't have the $25K to buy monster boxes, should they just eliminate the program?
These were never intended for collectors, just PM speculators.

So why don't the grading companies use (W) on the bullion ASE's from West Point? If you use the (S) then the (W) use should be a given ...and it says "Struck at the San Francisco Mint" on the label anyway ..and PCGS does not use the (S), only NGC |

PCGS does too use the (S) and the (W).
By and large this is a marketing gimmick, but the coins actually did come from those mints, thus the mintmark in parentheses. They probably wouldn't have different values if there was no demand for them, so evidently some people do care where they were minted.
Do not get the 2011-(W) bullion issue mixed up with the 2011-W burnished issue that will be out in another month or two. Those will definitely have a different value.
