Well I went to the auction where the 1957 MS70 Lincoln Cent was being sold.

See here.....https://goccf.com/t/91475

Anyway, The coin that they had again went for well over Red Book! I even pulled my large print Red Book out to act as if I was checking prices as the guy beside me bid up a 1987 proof set to $25. After he bought it he asked me what it was worth so I showed him what was listed in the book. he grunted and then proceeded to bid another 87 proof set up to $17.50 Red Book lists it at $5. Here is the sad part, they had two Unc 63 Franklin's and they both went for $7.50 and $10. I was in the men's room listening while taking care of other things. The MS70 cent looked like it would barely make an AU grade and sold for $32.50.
I did manage to pick a very nice late 1800's solid oak rocking chair for $45. Estimated value on the chair is $300-$400 according to my antique dealer neighbor.

You see all kind of zany things at an auction. It ranges from incredible deals to way overpriced not good deals.

hahahahaha. made me laugh. and I think it helps to be very knowledgeable in coins when you go to a coin auction. I would have stayed away from everything there.... except those franklins could have used more attention..
