arent coins meant to be like that? if you take any coin today and flip it over you will notice that one side always seems upside down, that is how they are minted.

you are correct... you are not missing anything... thats how coins are made.

Led, compare this quarter to any modern USA coin. If the obverse and reverse are aligned like the Barber quarter then your coin is normal. It's called the "coin turn" or coin alignment. Many coins from other countries use the opposite orientation for the two sides, called "medal turn".

Your quarter is quite worn and is a common date. It's worth about $7.50 right now.
