I saw this coin for sale, but I can't find any other reference to this DDR on the internet:

http://cgi.ebay.com/1853-O-SEATED-H...em4ceed359be

The basement slab, and the helps-you-go-blind pink font, hint towards fake. But the seller has good rating, and pictures are good enough, I think. Does anyone know anything about this coin? This can't be a unique coin, can it?

Thanks for your input.

Would like to see better pics, but it looks like Longacre doubling to me and would have been intentional.

I'm not too familiar with these, but that doesn't look anywhere near AU
Regarding the "rare doubled die", that looks a lot like something I see on IHCs, called "Longacre outlines", which is just part of the normal hubbing process-- with Scoob. Doubled dies are usually offset a particular direction, and not outlining the letters. Just my take, I bet others can say more on this series.

A detail from that auction--a doubled die?

IMO, if you want to be a respected seller on ebay, you should first, make sure the words in the description are correctly spelled and use proper grammar. The long drawn out description and poor grammar and mis-spelled words are enough for me to pass alone. IMO, you should give a brief description of the coin and any issues it may or may not have. This guy just goes on and on trying to be convincing in bold pink font. IMO, the fact he is trying to oversell this coin makes me suspicious of the grade and coin. However, it appears to be legitimate. I've not seen a fake coin that exhibits what appears to be Longacre doubling. Of course, if they use a coin that had such doubling to make a fake die, then the coin would have the doubling too. I also don't like the fact he says it's worth thousands, but his price is so low and how great a deal it is. Seems like he's gone fishing for some new collectors to jump on an over graded, possibly fake and mis-attributed coin.

Thanks for responding. So you guys are saying this is not a doubled die, or anything significant enough for the seller to be charging double the price?

And yeah I noticed the overgrading as well, but I assume that's just the bread and butter of basement slabbers.

I'm pretty certain that's not a doubled die.
Sellers on ebay constantly mistake these outlines for doubled dies.

As they say, you learn something new everyday! And it seems it would be pretty easy to confuse this one as a doubled die, if you didn't know the difference. But it's clear now, thanks for all the help folks!
