Im leaning more towards MS63 but could see why it might go 64. I see a lot of hits on the Obv and a handful on the Rev.

Beautiful coin though.

I'm going to say 64 with a shot at 65. I see very few marks, and on soft gold, the TPGs are more lenient.

PCGS has this one at MS61. I've had this old green holdered coin for over thirty years and I have always felt it was under graded. I think it has a good shot at MS63 with a resumption.

MS61 :o

I'm sorry but PCGS was way off on this one. After looking at your pics blown up, that coin at the very minimum is MS63.

The pictures must be hiding something for them to grade that low. No way is it 61, I'm still with solid 64.

I note that there is a big variation of opinions here, especially when that is related to the value.

judging by the pictures alone, that is a 65 coin.

a coin has to be beaten to CRAP to be a 61 or maybe even 62.

but this coin has virtually no marks in the prime focal area in the obverse, ad maybe 2 or 3 on the reverse.

if this were any other coin, it would be a high end 64, but because its gold, it should easily go a 65

The old holders do sell well though. Another thought is to send it in to CAC, and see if they will give it a "gold bean"..

What is a "gold bean" and doesn't CAC just say they agree with the grade?
