Greetings, good folks-- This is my first post in this forum. I am a casual collector of Canadian coins, with no particular goals or direction. I pick them up from junk silver tubs and the occasional auction mixed lot. It was one of those random lots that contained these two, along with a whole passel of large coppers of various denominations and localities. I have been unable to find any listing for the 1816 in my Krause catalog.. perhaps I overlooked it or it is listed somewhere else, or it's too obscure? Please enlighten me as to its place in the pantheon of Canadian coins. It seems to be older than anything else out there. These two seem to be very slightly different in some details, including planchet thickness. Too bad about the PMD. ): Thanks a heap!

These actually are from Canada. They are listed in Charlton's Canadian Colonial Tokens catalog under numbers UC-6A1 through UC-6A7. There are 7 different varieties, thus the different numbers. I'm not real familiar with these, but from a price point in the catalog they all have the same price for every variety. In a VG-8 grade it shows $10. Maybe someone else here can help identifying the varieties.

Forgot to mention that I am using the 7th edition of Canadian Colonial Tokens and it was printed in 2010. Not sure how much prices have changed.
