Hi there, I've had this coin in my possession for years and always meant to find out what it is/if it's even real but never got round to it.
If anyone knows what it is i'd appreciate your help.
I admit to knowing absolutely nothing about coins and don't even know if this thing is genuinely old or just made to look that way. It has a good weight tho and a very bright gold.
The letters WRL are stamped on one side. This appears to be a 'mint' stamp... or possibly a sign it's a replica...?
Anyway, here are some pics of the thing.
Thanks.
Pete.

World Replicas Limited? IMO-tourist souvenir.

Close.

Westair Reproductions Limited is Britain's largest manufacturer of "tourist replicas". You can find them for sale at most touristy places in Britain. They are always stamped "WRL". It's not solid gold.

They're usually sold for £5 pounds or so in a little informative pack that gives some history on what the genuine coins were. This coin is a replica of an English gold coin known, for obvious reasons, as an "angel".
