Nice collection. I have a few questions,How can you tell that the one labeled Grease Filled Die isn't just worn from circulating? Is the peg leg and clipped "E" from an over abraded die? The one labeled Die Break, isn't that a die crack?
My favorite is Tripple Tallon & wing (on same coin)
Thanks for posting the photos,
John1

Some of the images are from over polishings on the die. The three scratches near the bust are die scratches that are fading from an older cleaning. The talons are not talons.

Great superimposed photos there Coop. Would agree the three die gouges are not die clash.

On the bust line... I've seen the exact same marks on several coins.... exact... (1 Talon clash = 1 Mark, 2=2, 3=3 on most error coins)I go through a $ 1000 bag ever 2-3 weeks or so. Maybe I'm missing something here. I also thought the "talon" clashes were just "called" that as they are really not from the talon. How does that form on the head exactly... ?

On the overlay you can see the tail feathers in that area. The talons are in a different location.

I was under the impression that the three lines on the bust were clash marks from the leading edge of the eagle's wing. I believe the Ike Group calls that one the "volunteer."
