I have run across an opportunity to buy at least 20, if not more, 1961-1964P Mint sets. All are in MINT condition! Coins look great!
What should I pay for these? I know melt on them is about $21ish

I would pay 23-24 max. I would try to get melt if I could though.

Your estimates are way too low. Melt is $41.62 a set with silver at $33.62 I'm not sure what dealers are actually paying right now but at 20 times face they would be worth at least $34 a set. He did say mint sets which would be two coins of each denomination (P&D) so they have $1.70 face value in silver in each one. Now if they are PROOF sets then $21 to $23 a set might be reasonable.

Proof sets, no more than 24, Mint sets no more than 40.

I have purchased several that way. If you are looking for junk silver and the actual value of the package, look for people who are selling the Proof Sets in the whitman plastic holders, nobody will touch them for over 20.00 I always get them for around 21.50 or 22.25 - no higher and some have free shipping.

The OP said P mint sets. Are you saying there is only the P half of the set available?

Maybe I read the post too fast. I saw the words mint sets and missed that he only mentioned P. That would seem to imply that they could be proof sets.

The way I read it, he is talking about a complete (P and D), mint set. If that is the case, I think 40 wold be a fair.
