Nice Find. A Keeper.
"Blakesly Effect" is not in the glossary. Because of the clip or incomplete planchet one one side, the pressure is not even across the coin, so there is not enough pressure on the rim on the opposite side... which does not fill properly.
Coop are you is referring to the thin area of rim above "we trust" opposite the clip?

Correct. During the upset process that forms the rim, usually the area 180 degrees opposite the clip doesn't form because of the lack of pressure in that area because it is missing. So the rim is just partially formed or weak in some areas.
