I love the original circulated look of commemorative coinage. Some folks refer to the look as 'circulated cameo' and others just call it 'original'. Here is one of my favorite $40 coins, a nice circulated Stone Mountain that has the look I enjoy. Wish I had a bunch of different commemoratives with this look!

Here's mine. I was going to use it to make a ring, but I just couldn't ruin it. I'll use damaged and holed coins for my rings. You can find lots of them for sale out there so why ruin the numismatic value of a coin with almost no damage?

Not a coin that will ever be worth much, but the thought of punching a hole in it made me wince. So it will stay a coin and not a ring.

I am actually on a quest to complete my Dansco 7094 (50-coin classic silver set) in well-circulated condition. Figure this will be a nice complement to my PCGS MS set.

Anyways ... I have 29 of the 50 so far ... these are proving to be tough to come by.

I've imaged a few ... you can read some of my 'comparison' posts in this forum where I show the MS coin versus the circulated version ...

Here is one of my favorites ... circulated cameo F15 1934 Texas Half Dollar:
