It rather looks cast to me, as well - I don't like how "mushy" the lettering is, especially the serifs. Even worn serifs should show sharp definition from the fields. It may just be an artifact of the photography. Authentication is mandatory for this one.

if this is found to be a cast counterfeit it puts question on the whole Sack of coins in my opinion and all should be checked to make sure they are real, not all graded but all checked by someone with the knowledge to know the difference

Looks cleaned, re-toned, and has rim dings. The MM is suspect, and I could authenticate it with a better obverse view. Not trying to take away from your coin, just giving you an idea what you may be offered....probably around $400 to $500......If there were no problems, it would be $750 to $900.00. Grey sheet bid for an EF is over $2000.00, but you'll never get that from a dealer even if the coin was a perfect EF.

Excellent. I'm quite prepared to believe it's real with better evidence - although it's one of the most (if not the most) popular Morgan counterfeits, it's also a coin which is quite available and still being found in previously-unknown collections. It is not yet time to abandon ship.
