Howdy....I was looking at maybe purchasing this [eBayItem]160612188279[/eBayItem]. But I wanted to see if I could get some opinions on grade...looks to me to be a AU58, mainly because it appears to have some wear in the cheek bone area of the Obverse. Tell me what you think, does the tone on this coin take away or add to it?

I'm always suspicious of toning like that. Yeah, yellow and blue toning is common on nickels, but they clearly turned the contrast and saturation way up on those photos. IMO, it's nice AU, not MS, but I am not an experienced grader. Based on the current price, I bet it'll go for more than it's worth.

The pictures are completely over saturated and contrasted. IMO, it's impossible to grade the coin from those pictures, you just can't tell what is wear and what isn't. I would suggest staying away unless you want to take a risk. I purchased a 1950d off ebay, I spent some time look to cherry pick one. I managed to find one for $13 with shipping that had great champagne toning. It ended up grading MS66.

I guess I am not dialed in to the tone, what that means, or what it does for value. The image is not sufficient for me to judge the grade.
