Hi All, I want to collect American coins, and so searching for a small (+- 50 coins) lot(s). But one problem, I live in Holland. On ebay.nl, I can't find the small lots. So where in Holland can I get small (and cheap shipping) lots of coins? It will also buy it on e.g. ebay.com, if the shipping costs are not too high... Maybe somewhere else? Will you guys help me? Kind Regards, Rik Edited by Ricky93 07/04/2011 05:12 am

Sorry for the dubblepost, but I saw this: http://cgi.ebay.com/Roll-Illinois-D...em3f0b8bc05cAre the shipping costs really so low to Holland, or is that a joke? EDIT: Am I right, that in one coin-roll serveral years are packaged? Or is a roll with coins all from the same year?

Not sure about the shipping costs. As far as the roll in question, it appears to be a roll of "Illinois" State commemorative quarters. These were issued only in one year (2003) so yes, if the item description is accurate, this roll would contain one year date, not mixed dates. People roll coins all the time and take them or loose change to the banks, where mixed-date rolls can be found.

Okay, so I'm better off with a lot (25-50 coins) of coins? And if so, where can I buy that?

These forums would probably be the best place to get coins cheap, but you need 50 posts before buying or trading :(
Were you looking for nice uncirculated coins, or just the average circulated ones?

I'm in search of just normal circulated coins... And yes, it is hard to get 50 posts...

Well, you're a tenth of the way there in less than 3 and a half hours! Are you interested in all denominations, or just quarters?

I would be willing to send you some current circulated coins but I would prefer to wait until I reach my 250 minimum. Don't want to get on the moderator's bad side.

Are there no coin shops in Holland? American coin shops usually have boxes, tubs, or bins of inexpensive, common circulated non-USA coins brought home by tourists. I would think the same thing would be true for shops in Europe, that is, they would accumulate tourist pocket change brought home from the USA. Seems like this would be the best place to start looking, since there is no shipping or tedious internet searching involved.

I would also send you some coins, but you gotta have 50 posts, I think.. Whenever you have a question, feel free to post it. Knowledge is one of the best parts of this hobby

Quote: I'm in search of just normal circulated coins... And yes, it is hard to get 50 posts... Actuallly it is not that hard to accumulate 50 posts. Your already started so just keep on posting and replying. You'll be amazed at how faat things add up. This forum is a good place to acquire US coins. And if you just want ordinary ones, should be even easier. Not sure what it's like there for banks to have US coins but have you tried them? IF you know someone in college or have a friend with someone in College, ask them to check on US exchange students for US coins too. Not to long ago my Son spent a year at the you of Krakow and he met other kids from all over. Exchanging coins and bills from any and every where was common. While there he went to many other countries and sent me coins from most of them. He too gave out our US coins to those that wanted them. Although most were not coin collectors, as College kids it was all in fun.
