Just wondering what you think the grade is for this coin, how much you think it is worth and where would be the best place to sell it. I know the pictures aren't the best but they are the best I have for now. Thanks,

This could be a real scorcher. From what I gather from the pics, my guess would be that this is a MS example being that the devices look fully lustrous and I can't make out wear. It looks original too, but it's tough to tell for sure from these pics. Authenticity is always a concern for Seated dollars due to the number of counterfeits, and this coin definitely warrants a trip to PCGS, NGC or ANACS for certification. If genuine, I'd think this would bring several thousand dollars.

This one absolutely needs to be authenticated and graded by one of the major Third Party Graders, and then liquidated through a reputable auction house such as Heritage Auctions. The images are admittedly not perfect, but they're good enough to tell that the coin is no worse than a high AU. That minimal grade would put its' beginning value at about US$2500, and Mint State examples are so rare as to be more valuable than equivalent Proofs of the year. Heritage, in its' entire archived history going back twenty years, has only offered 17 of these in Mint State.
This coin needs to visit PCGS, plain and simple.

Wow! That is a stunner! I agree with a PCGS submission. You have a winning coin there! A minimum of AU-58 with a VERY real possibility of MS. Please keep us posted on your next moves!

Here are some better pictures I took and I am sending it to PCGS for grading. Thanks for your suggestions as being a Canadian Coin collector primarily I was totally surprised by the grade. Yet now the more I look at it I see how it is much better. Thanks

I see a lot of what appear to be hair lines, but could very easily be streaks on the 2x2. Id vote MS63 off of lack of distracting hits. I see almost none. And if those are not hairlines or light scratches, it could push 64.
This is of course assuming it isn't AU... if there is wear its a smoking solid AU-58
Wowzer. What a beast of a coin.

Keep us posted on if you send it to a TPG, what it grades, and where/when/if it goes to auction. I know I would be interested in bidding.

I took it to a coin dealer yesterday and submitted it through him to PCGS and from everything he could tell from weight and look it seemed real. Will let you know what grade it ends up when it comes back.
