Hey all! So I haven't worked much with gold before, so I'm seeking your advice on this 1914D Saint Gaudens. Would it be worth it to slab this coin?

The glory photo w/ no grading utility :)

I would grade this coin AU-58. Nice example!

IMO - I would think that any gold would be worth slabbing through ANACS (least expensive, and no club to join).

She sure is pretty, even with the slight rub on her left leg!

That 'wear' on her left leg may be a flat compression bump. There does not seem to be that much 'wear' on the rest of the coin.

The rays, which are subject to being damaged, are reasonably intact. Same allpies to the rims. Her nose and boobs are also quite acceptable.

So what would you grade it as sel?

I really like to have a coin in hand when I grade.

That bump knocks the grade. Now that I have been put on the spot, I would say:
MS62.

I have a 1924 common date. With my coin, poor miss Liberty has a slighyly flattened nose, and a few of the rays are broken, but the coin has no wear. My coin is MS60.

That is a real beauty, I hope to own one like it someday soon.
