Hi,
Wondering if someone would be able to recognize this "medal" (I think).
belongs to my friend ,it's in his possession for about 35-40 years. Hi is often wondering if this has any value or is just some common kind of "medal"

It looks like a latin inscription. Bigger pictures would help a lot.

Definitely looks like an item based on an ancient Roman coin, though I'd suspect a reproduction rather than an actual ancient (the edge doesn't look quite right to me). The reverse design is VRBS ROMA (City of Rome); presumably that's Roma herself seated. I'd need a better pic of the obverse legend to tell you which emperor it's supposed to be.
