I picked this one up a week or so ago.
As I am extremely new to these and my Encyclopedia has not arrived yet at Border's, I was trolling for comments.
It's not in very good shape. AG3?
Also should I attempt to clean (soaking in mineral oil, followed by acetone and lastly water). I've used it on federal issues, but I have no experience with colonials.
Any suggestions or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Pitt Halfpenny however, not a Halfpenny at all but rather, a token. These were most likely made as commemorative celebrating William Pitt (Pittsburgh,Pa. named in his honor) who stood along side the Colonists who were tired of "No taxation without Representation". The Englishmen who turned an American Patriot.
Many of these Halfpenny's were thought to have circulated in the Colonies because of a need for currency. The smaller size Farthing token are much more scarce, and were believed to have not circulated..no one really knows for sure. Some of the Halfpenny's were also known to be silvered.
I would actually put yours in the VG Details area with what looks to be some light encrustation (possibly ground patina) and some slight corrosion. Still a very nice piece and very collectible
I have one but it has a hole in it which was a common practice in the day to wear these as medalets.

David,
Thanks for the information, it was quite interesting.
Do you think the coin should be cleaned to remove the 'encrustations'?

Your welcome!
No, I would leave it. Eye appeal is okay IMO.
