Hi, I have a coin that has been made into a necklace. Its 50 PTAS Juan Carlos Rey deEspana1975. But the twist is that there has been the light from the statue of liberty cut into it and I need to find out what its worth and what it is, ill try to upload an image so you can see! All answers are appreciated as I've not had any luck finding out what it is on google. I want to sell it, so if its worth something how would I go about that? Thanks *** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. ***

if your trying to sell it once you can figure out what it is probably ebay your best bet. Or try your local Craigslist. But Craigslist usually isn't that great. I don't know if that is how the coin is supposed to be because I've never seen it before but looks like somebody took a pin and outlined it.

I'd say it is a Spanish coin from the 1970's. If you turn it 180 degrees you can see the coat of arms. I don't think it is that rare. With the cuts most collectors would consider it damaged so what you would get for it I don't know. One of my local coin shops has a box of damaged coins with holes in it that people drilled to make necklaces. You can get a handful of them for a dollar because nobody wants them. I think it is made out of Copper-nickel so no valuable metals. I would try to ebay it or maybe private seller on craigslist. I'm sure there are people who collect this type of stuff.

Looks like a 50 pesetas from Spain to me. Does it have King Juan Carlos on the other side? Preferably with a year as well?

Ok, it's made of copper-nickel and millions were minted. I agree with allranger - it's just a damaged coin. In my opinion, it's worth more as a necklace.

Looks like a jeweler practicing with his hand saw. A hole to begin and one to end, and make the design with a single cutting path.

Based on what I can see, I agree with desertgem. It's an altered or novelty piece to be used for jewelry purposes, no value or rarity outside of someone's loss of their pendant.

Looks like it is from 1978 from what I can see in the pic. I agree that you can sell it as a jewelry piece. I have seen cut out coins from a few dollars and up on ebay.
