Brunswick Wolfenbuttel 5 thalers(my opinion only)
http://www.ngccoin.com/poplookup/Wo...oinid=350669

Here is 1574 version(not exact match but coin is hard to find)Maybe some other member get it.

In yours condition on proper auction(if original)should easy fetch 50 000 EUR (pessimistic opinion)Looks to good to be truth though.I maybe totaly wrong.

EDIT:I just noticed HERZOG.ZU.BRUN.V.LUNE

So-Prince of Brunswick and Lueneberg in this scenario-Hope that can narrow your search.Still extremely rare.

Best way to get decent ID and valuation of it is to contact Kuenker at https://www.kuenker.de/homepage_en.kuenker
They probably will have to see coin in hand. Some charges may apply if not original-I think is about 20EUR for checkup and postage. When coming to German coins they are the best-but one word of advise-if they want to buy it from you-don't agree as they buying prices are just ridiculous. They made me an offer once for 15% market value so be careful.

It is, of course, impossible that an excessively rare German States giant multiple thaler in perfect condition would wind up in an Indonesian scrap metal yard. It is a replica. It would be impossible to say whether it was solid silver or not.

Yep, except "1000" is probably silver fineness rather than mintage.

So yes, it's solid silver, but no, it's not old and valuable. Bullion value only.
