I am currently using a Canon Powershot SD870IS. I've liked it, but it is starting to break down. I am thinking of upgrading to the XS130IS and I was wondering if anyone has any opinions on it? If you have one or have used one, can you tell me how much you can zoom in digital macro mode?

My ex has one; I like the quality of the shots it takes, but I've never played with it in Macro mode. Canon is historically good with macro; I don't expect the SX130 to be any different.

Never use digital zoom on a camera. It does not add information, and takes away clarity. All it does is take the maximum resolution of the camera and zooms in closer, exactly as if you'd magnified an original image on your computer screen. And, given the tiny processors inside a camera, the image viewing software on your computer will do a far better job.
