I am new to the world of collecting coins, and have been reading through these forums. I see boxes of coins referenced quite a lot, and was wondering where one would obtain a box? How is a box different than a roll? Is there a beginners guide for dummys anywhere?
Thank in advance for all of your help!

You can pick up boxes at your local bank branch. Sometimes you need them to "order" them for you though.

Thank You all for the information. I have been scouring this forum and have already picked up a lot of information. I am going to keep trolling though the pages of info to get in a better position to begin my collection, and I am glad that I found this forum to assist! Does anyone have any insight on the best way for me to start? Should I just go to the bank and buy some rolls? I especially like the halves and quarters, but is there another denomination that is better to start with for a newb like myself? Thanks again for all of your help.

Quote: im new to this to and am just wondering if anyone has any good places to search in wisconsin looking for old coins Isn't Wisconsin a suburb of Illinois? There is a really great coin dealer that goes to all the coin shows in Illinois and soon will be opening a coin shop in or near Milwaukee. If that is near you, eventually I'll have his address there. Not sure how far you are from Illinois but just outside the Chicago area there are 3 coin shows Monthly. Great places to find coins. You should really try flea markets around you. One dealer that comes to Illinois and sells at flea markets buys all his coins in Wisconsin.
