Looks like the expected shipping date on the Two Roll Mint Wrapped sets has been changed to May 27, 2005. I wonder how long before they are sold out?

The U.S. Mint has made billions of these coins. They do not ship coins to collectors. The company that ships the coins is backlogged with orders. They stop order will come in late July to make ready for the final nickel of the westward journey series.

Does anyone know if the government can override the nickel bill and continue to produce the new Bison nickel. Its popularity sure does warrent it.

Congress isn't that smart! I am sure everyone here is ready to get into line for the Presidential "Spouse" gold coins already, aren't they? What a joke!

I am with Will Rogers on this one when he said " My little jokes don't hurt anyone but when congress makes a joke -- it's LAW..!"catman

Since congress passed the 2003 law that requires Jefferson and Monticello to be on the nickel from 2006 through FOREVER, there is NO hope of seeing a long lasting Bison nickel.

Did you see the latest Bison error made the front cover of Numismatic News. The T from Trust was grease filled then the plug fell out and caused an extra T above liberty. Nice error but I am thinking there are way to many Bison errors showing up.

How else could you get people to be interested in lackluster coins? I hate to sound like a conspiracy guy, but with the lack of real honest to goodness coins to attract people, they make small worthless errors left and right. These errors make national news and make many people part with their money. How else would anyone anywhere care about a quarter with a block of cheese on it. So in order to make the nickel fans happy, a few minor errors pop up. If they would have chosen a real good design, true and artistic, there would be no need for people to clammer over little die variations or die breaks.

For the first time in the last two years it seem that every bank in the area has the new Buffalo nickels. Finding one of the two first issue nickels was like pulling teeth, and now these Buffalo coins are every place. Someone is making a special effort to get them out to at least some areas.

Well it is apparent that Indiana's Buffalo nickels went west to satisfy Old Dan's demands? Darn that guy has the pull doesn't he? Thats okay as quite a few folks have come to our aid by sending them back and I finally found a bank official that needed some extra cash and I finally got everyone (family, friends and co-workers) satisfied (knock on wood here) and do hope I DON'T ever have to go through that again! Much of the problem is many folks are willing to pay a premium for coins and understand why and then there are those who can't imagine paying any more than face value for any coin regardless of the date or mint mark. I gave up trying to explain to many of them and just prayed for the opportunity to get some rolls at face value and I didn't even mind paying the shipping just to get some of them off my back! Now FINALLY I can have a little peace of mind and get back to my COIN collecting efforts! I can say I have never seen anything like this out of the non-collecting community before!
