Found this in a roll in Canada last summer. It's older than any Canadian cent I ever found!
Nice find!

1865 IHC in F12. Absolutely beautiful, someone must've deposited into circulation.

I've been very fortunate the last 2 or 3 years to find some old coins so I'll list by denomination and type of search:

Cent: 1881 IHC
2 Cent Piece: 1964: Found in reject trey
3 Cent Nickel: 1881. Found in a roll of dimes. By far my best "dime" find
Nickel: 1883 V
Dime: 1941: 3 Cent Nick is my oldest dime roll find. My oldest foreign is in the 19teens and made of stirling
silver. Can't remember the country right now.
Half: 1941. I've searched waaaaay more halves than anything
else. I'm surprised I haven't found one older.
Actually, I just remembered I found an 1917 British
penny while searching a bag of halves?!?!

My oldest was a 1904 Indian Head cent until a few months when I pulled an 1898 Indian out of a customer roll.

1 month into my roll searching journey 1925-S wheat faded down to almost nothing. Last week I came across some of the "treasures" I saved when cleaning out my great grandmothers house in 1999. Among them was a 1915-S wheat, made my day!

A 1917 wheatie. Not terrible condition, but it is still pretty worn and corroded and discolored in a way that makes me suspect it has been buried.

I would post pics, but its already in its 2x2. I really don't want to rip it out of storage unless I find something in better condition and replace it!

Never mind, found an 1898 IHC last week. Couldn't believe it, just in a regular bank roll. Beats my previous oldest find by 19 years.
