The odds aren't high for the seller withdrawing that auction, but I'll wait and see. Sometimes I just gag at what gets bids on ebay

looks like a bezel around the coin to me also. It must be one that is open on one side and you slide the coin in and then press the bezel where the coin doesn't come out again because I do not see where it is pieced together

Reply to my note from the seller.
"Wow, I had no clue that things like you describe were even out there. These were my fathers coins, he was a preacher so I know he had no clue either. I will pass your information on to the winner and see what he wants to do. Thanks for the information and have a blessed day."

An honest ebay seller? Now that would be nice. If he gets $180 for a CENT and does the right thing. Wow! I really hope he does contact the buyer with the information you gave him. We'll have to watch the seller's feedback to see if the buyer accepts the coin or complains about the coin he gets. If you look at the bidding, the winner(?) of the coin REALLY wanted it. He bid 10 times and even raised his max bid just before the end of the auction, even though he was winning. He didn't want to loose it! What does he think he bought?

This saddens me. The buyer got taken. Flat out taken.
I know the seller claimed this and that, but I don't have much faith in people when money is involved. Preachers old coin, a likely story if you ask me....

No, the buyer was a bidiot- this is the equivalent of bidding on Virgin Mary toast. The seller has three years worth of toy and clothing sales on ebay, didn't sell a single coin until this month so it would not surprise me that the seller is clueless when it comes to coins. Auction started at $5 which is not an unreasonable figure. Seller also mentions "bezel setting" and "sounds hollow when dropped" so key details are not being hidden. On the other hand, the winning bidder had plenty of opportunities to bow out but no, they have 9 bids on the thing. I see no fraud here, just a case of someone with more money than brains...
