Louis D'or 1779, Contemporary Forgery?

This came as part of a mixed lot and I can't place it:
Louis-D'or-1779,-Contemporary-Forgery?
It's 29 mm, 3.3 gr, coin rotation and appears to be copper.
However it may be my imagination, but I believe that there are traces of a goldish colouring on the reverse; which is the same as that of the Louis D'Or.
I can find no copper coin that fits the bill, so could this be a contemporary fake which had some kind of gold wash?
I'd welcome your opinions.

I had to look up what a "maven" was. I don't think I'm one...

I agree that it is somewhat crudely replicating the design from a gold louis d'or, or fraction thereof. I'm not sure why. It could be a crude attempt at fakery, perhaps dating from the Revolution when people had no fears of the wrath of the king. Or it may simply be a game counting token.
