It looks like a token, perhaps of Northern or Northwest India, and I GUESS of the 18th or 19th centuries.

Actually, I have not seen a similar token, but there is enough on it to make me think in a certain direction.

What metal is it composed of?

I hope that is a start.

I haven't seen one with this specific design before either, but the script and artistic style match a typical "Temple token". See here for other Hindu temple tokens on the zeno.ru database.

Hi Sel, thanks for the info. I have no idea what metal its made of. The coin itself is a goldish colour.
