Just got a 2000 s silver proof quarter set for $20. The guy also has a bunch of other sets and he said he'd shoot me an email. I keep finding good deals. Last week I got an ASE for $25.

I've been wondering, how do you "do the deal". Do you ship the items to each other w/insurance, or meet somewhere in public? And if you ship items to each other, how do you pay (check, money order, cash, etc.)?

I only deal on craigslist with people in my area. I wouldn't trust anyone to ship an item to me. So I meet in a public place. Today I met in front of a target. Its good to meet in places that have people watching... or near a bank or gas station, so if you get robbed there are cameras watching. but I have never had a deal go bad on me.

in san diego where I am I tend to find silver for quite a bit under melt pretty frequently. I buy and then turn around to sell for a profit. but these State Quarters I needed so I'm glad I got them at a good deal.

I just check every single day. And at different times of the day. If you check frequently, you will find some good deals. You just have to sift through a lot of junk.

CL in this area is nothing but a bunch of people begging to buy silver. There's almost nobody who actually collects coins.

I have had some luck selling but never buying. It seems like no one ever returns my emails on there.

Same here. I've sold lots of items for good money, but when I try to buy something, nobody responds.

craigslist is great for selling but sometimes trying to get in o n a deal is hard. People posting a good deal get like 100 emails and hour. I acidently posted silver quarters for what silver dime were selling for. I had 15 emails before I went to the gas station and back.

Yes there are tons of crap listings wanting to buy silver and gold. there are so many annoying listings that get reposted daily. but if you check craigslist daily you will find the good stuff. I never sell on craigslist, but I do buy a lot and I have never had the problems you guys have had. might be related to where you live.

The folks who sell coins on craigslist here in central NY seem to want WAY to much for their stuff.
It is a nice venue, if your careful, though.
I'm slowly emptying my garage through craigslist.
