I have a few boxes of 1972P Ike's that my grandfather gave me.
I opened one up so I know its a 72P. I assume they all are.

The box is 4"x4"x.25". Plain white except for "24216-1" (all boxes have this same code). The tape is white with black lettering that says "Security Seal Tuartape".

Inside there is a cardboard boarder to hold the coins in place. There are 12 coins, arranged in 3 layers of 2x2 coins.

Anyone ever heard of this? Is this a U.S. mint product or was it packaged by some other company? If its genuine, any idea of the value?

Sounds like a third party package. As for value, not much over face unless they are variety coins or are Type 2's and grade MS60 or higher

Definitely third party packaging. Maybe a 1972 version of the Danbury Mint's current 12 coin President dollar rolls.
