on one side it reads pius. ix. pont. max. on the other side fiat pax in virtute tva I cant get a photo up yet but the one side has a picture of pope Pius ix and the other has a pic of jesus, the coin has no marking of value

Yep, sounds like a religious medal to me. Is it holed or mounted, for wearing on a chain?

ok well I know these are bad quality but I dont have a camera so I used my blackberry but you can see the general shape I've already told you what the writing is

ok so it isn't a picture of jesus but a picture of Mary and I dont know if this means anything but there is an are underneath her picture I think its possibly the mint it comes from but I dont know the name

Can't see much detail in those pics, except that it was indeed once mounted on a chain - you can see the damage where the mounting has been broken off the top.

The key thing indicating this is not an actual coin is the lack of a date. Vatican / Papal States coins from the 1800s usually bore two dates, the AD date and the regnal year of the Pope.
