One of the prettiest I have seen in a long time. Ryder-8 as noted by the 9 trees and the recut 1 of the date. Other than a couple small corrosion spots obverse and some verdigris reverse, this coin has nice AU details IMO. You don't see VERMONTENSIUM's centered this nicely very often and details this sharp. There is even some reddish-brown surfaces which make this piece very choice. A very nice example. http://cgi.ebay.com/1786-VERMONTENS...115890136799swcoin.ecrater.com

I am going to definitely see where it goes but no, I already have a Landscape type for my set and, I have spent my budget on Colonials for awhile. Mine is just as centered but this one is a higher grade. It's a nice coin sure to make it's new owner happy :)

Nice looking coin. Thanks for sharing! You are turning me into a Colonial fan! I will need to read up on these a bit more.

Rayman, Look into "The Whitman Encyclopedia of Colonial and Early American Coins". Terrific introductory book of most Colonial types. Then there are more specialized books based on type.

Really nice. But definitely out of my price range. Do you loan out your time machine.

Yes but many insurance papers to sign and, it's not cheap. I almost got shot once trying to ask for a drink in a Carson City saloon. They were making fun of my clothes!

Good question. I would be VERY surprised if there are no more bids. Very popular type among Colonial collectors. I will take a guess, $3200-3400. It's just a guess.
