I just have one question about Switzerland francs alignment.

Noticed that Switzerland coin of tender value more than 1/2 francs (including 1/2 francs) are mostly of coin alignment, while coin of terder value lower than 1/2 francs are all of medal alignment.

And there are some exceptions for the coin alignment coins.
Listed in the Catalogue: KM#23a.2 1982 1/2 franc; KM#24a.2 1982 franc; KM# 21a.2 1982 2 francs; KM#40a.2 1982/1983/1984 5 francs.
These above coins are medal alignment.
But these mentioned coin alignment coins are just for the above years. The book does not advise all the coins after that are medal alignment or coin alignment.

From my colletion, I have just found one 1985 franc coin which is also of medal alignment. So I have my question, do all these coin alignemnt coins change to medal alignment after 1982 ? Or the medal alignment 1985 franc I have is an erro coin ? I do not have other coins dated after 1982. So I can not find out this by myself.

Anyone knows more clearly about this please advise.
Or if you have Switzerland coins dated after 1982, please check its alignment and advise. Note: check coins of terder value more than 1/2 francs.

Hi, Toast, thanks for your information.
I think this explains the question and proves that since 1982, all the francs are changed to medal alignment.
The only pity is that my 1985 franc is not a special error coin, but a normal one. :-)

Right; 1982 is somewhat special in that it is the only year with "medal" alignment and 22 stars representing the cantons. Before, it was "coin" alignment and 22 stars; as from 1983 it has been "medal" alignment and 23 stars. Unfortunately the special status is not reflected by a higher value.
