Does anyone know who designs the reverse for the Perth Mint coins? I am interested to know who did the reverse designs for the Lunar Series (I and II), the Koalas, the Square Kookaburras, Sea Life Series (I and II) and Bush Babies. In case you haven't put it together, they are all 50c... Any assistance appreciated!

Hi steve - Oz 50c man he he, we all know that you like 50c coins ♥ You can go to the Perth Mint website and click on the coins and they will have who designed them in the description, specifications tab! I love the bush baby series, reverse designed by the talented Elise Martinson, The coin's obverse depicts the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Coins that are not listed on the PM website can be back tracked on the comlaw webpage. Enjoy sifting through the webpage's. If you can't remember the years for the coins you can always do a quick ebay product search or Google them, the years should be easy to find. Sea life coins were issued in 2009-10 and 2011. Hope this helps :)

Thanks Australian Coin, you are always helpful and a great source of info! I have had no luck with the Perth Mint site, but obviously I haven't persisted long enough... Thanks for the great info and I will try again with the PM site.

Thanks again Australian Coin - I wish I read these posts before I trawled through all the currency determinations last night! I have found the same - still no clue to the lunar series (I or II) thought... Here is a list of the Perth Mint Designers that I have built from various sources... I have not been able to locate TV or MG yet, but still looking! SB - Shevaun Buschenhofen JR - Jovan Radanovich WR - Wade Robinson RV - Ryan Vanderwiel DB - Darryl Bellotti AH - Aleysha Howarth TV - MG -

Cool you found the name for the square Kookaburra coin. You did one better than me! You probably won't know the 2 new names until the coins have been released. Although MG was a lady designer who is dead, I don't think that dead people can make new designs. Australian Lunar Series II 2011 Year of the Rabbit A design, in bullion finish, surrounded by a pattern of lines and consisting of the following: (a) a representation of a rabbit; (b) a representation of a cabbage and a pot with Chinese characters on its side; (c) the Pinyin pictograph pronounced ‘tù' and meaning ‘rabbit'; (d) ‘Year of the Rabbit'; (e) ‘P'. No designer initials on the coins, a humble sculptor or a few of the PM designers worked together. Series: 1999 (Rabbit), 2000 (Dragon), 2001 (Snake), 2002 (Horse), 2003 (Goat), 2004 (Monkey), 2005 (Rooster), 2006 (Dog), 2007 (Pig), 2008 (Mouse), 2009 (Ox), 2010 (Tiger) 2011 (Rabbit)
