Yes, sometimes the VDB can be weak.

Beautiful coin. I cant grade MS coins for some reason I'm always off, so I will just agree with everyone else.

Real nice color. I'm not extremely familiar with LWCs and I have a question. Is the raised line above the VDB normal for any of the reverse dies? Could it be added on or is the coin cast? There doe look like some metal flow (streams) behind Lincoln's head. LWC experts please chime in.

I don't think it's a raised line but it appears to be a scratch. The VDB cents aren't worth counterfitting as they aren't that valuable. You would counterfit a VDB cent and add an "S" though.

MS-61/62 tops, the chatter in the obverse fields especially behind the neck and the damage/scratch above the VDB are definite hits to the grade of the coin.

I posted this to see what others thought because I too thought it shouldn't be ms63 red. but some members here think so and so does NGC. I won't disagree with them though. also I am horrible at grading so what do I know.

Which is why none of my coins are in TPG slabs. and why I don't buy coins that are in slabs that don't match the grade of the coin inside.

Rest in Peace
